Recycling
Our estate has been chosen as part of a trial involving 60 estates in the borough. The trial is to find out if simplifying the way recycling is collected from estates makes it easier for residents to recycle more while also saving money by reusing waste which was going to landfill for disposal.

The are two containers:

Mixed Container Recycling:

• Glass bottles and jars (all colours)
• Can, aerosols and aluminium foil
• Plastic bottles
• Other mixed plastic containers (eg food trays, yoghurt pots, margerine tubs etc)

Mixed Fibre Recycling:

• Paper and junk mail
• Magazines and newspapers
• Flattened cardboard and envelopes
• Telephone directories
• Food and drink cartons (eg Tetra Pak)

Please ensure that only the correct materials are placed in the appropriate containers. In addition please ensure the materials are put in the containers and not left on top!
